Founded in 2001, the National Organic Agricultural Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU) is the umbrella body coordinating organic agriculture stakeholders across the country, from smallholder farmers to exporters and processors.
Years Of Experience
To promote and develop organic agriculture in Uganda through advocacy, capacity building, and market access for sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation.
A Uganda where organic agriculture is the foundation of a healthy, sustainable, and prosperous society that values environmental conservation and social equity.
We champion farming practices that protect soil, water and biodiversity for future generations.
We hold ourselves and our members to the highest standards of honesty and accountability in everything we do.
We ensure smallholder farmers, women and youth have an equal voice and equal access to opportunity.
We embrace new ideas and technologies that help Uganda's organic sector grow and compete globally.
As the national umbrella body, NOGAMU coordinates farmer groups, exporters, processors and development partners to strengthen Uganda's organic value chain, from production and certification all the way through to export.

Winning the Value Chain Support Organization Award with NOGAMU motivated our women's group to expand organic sesame farming. We now supply major exporters.
We offer market linkages for organic produce, training in organic farming practices, and support for members to obtain organic certification.
